This object has a lot of importance for many reasons. First of all, when I was a kid, like many other kids, I liked dinosaurs. I was spending all summers in the village where my grand parents lived. And for Christmas and New Year, we often drank Champagne or cider so, this is the wire that covers the cork of Champagne. And often, when we opened one of these bottles, my grand father made these dinosaurs for us.

This one is very simple because I made it myself, but the ones he was making was much more complex; he was putting small pieces of paper here and I had quite a lot of fun with these, it was a very simple and fun idea.

My grand father was a very creative person and in my family, no one has been artist or anything like that. They all had quite normal jobs but I think that my grand father had a part of himself that was very creative and that inspired me a lot, and I don’t know if I was an artist or not because of that, but it was very interesting to look at him do manual things. Whenever he had something in his hands, whatever that was, he was transforming it and because of that’s why it was very important for me. I always liked it, and all the time, at this time of the year, I make one, two or three of these. And as time went by, I started to imagine them walking. I put them in different positions, I lift their legs… it’s a very simple idea, but it’s very important.

I have this one for two years now. I usually lose them quickly. I always make a lot of them and lose them. But this one, I didn’t lose it. I brought it back from the penultimate time that I made photos in the village of my grand mother.

The most interesting is that this one in particular is not necessarily important because I always make more, so this one I can give you and other ones will come up at some point and they will be different, and because of that it’s very important.
